How early do you start your christmas shopping?

seriously between the older my kids get and the media is just materializing christmas (in an expensive way) like the kids have to have the most expensive toys etc,,,I'm thinking of starting this month, I felt like a failure last year with present due to money ya know? does anyone else feel like this?
