How to say Kale in German?

My husband is in the USAF and we are stationed in Germany. I have googled and wikied all I can about trying to find out what kale looks like and different names for it. The base we are on is open to all armed forces in the area which means most of the food here is labeled in German. Does anyone know how to say Kale in German??? Thanks!!
