What is Japan like??????????

I have some knowledge of Japan. It looks like a beautiful place. I love technology and Asian culture. I recently went to China and my sister went to Thailand and the people were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome!!!!! They are so nice and generous! We put a sign saying "I love you" in Chinese in our Window and the people laughed and blew kisses and waved. A lot said I love you back in English when we got off the bus! It was awesome! But I've ALWAYS wanted to go to Japan. I recently read that the Japanese don't like foreigners though. So if I ever decided to go to Japan would it be completely different from China and Thailand? Or would they be as Awesomely nice? (I only say it like that because Americans just seem so mean...)
