This generally does not have a good prognosis. Keep your faith and hope. Stay close to her and just be her friend. Her parents will really need lots of support too! Just don't give up on her when things get bad and times get hard. She will go down a difficult road with lots of emotions and suffering and it will be hard to see. So, you will need to be strong and stick by her thru it all. Just ask her what she needs and be there for her. You can support her with your humor, making her laugh, keep her smiling, and tell her you are there for her. Tell your school nurse about this and she can give you some ideas too. Don't feel you are alone in this.
