How do I make my new hamsters comfortable?

ok i had the same problem with my 2 gerbils wat i did was i stuck my hand in the cage and just got used to the way they feel and react and let them get used to my hand and scent.then try picking them up for a couple of seconds in the cage.then when their used to that much take them out of the cage for about 1 minute or so and before u know it,theyll be as comfortalbe as can be with u.
