Been watching Beverly Hills 90210 and....?

I love the new one! And I love Shannen Doherty, I've watched most of Season one of the original series and I like it kind of because of Shannen e.t.c. BUT I don't find the stories that riveting, very drama of the week and kinda boring? I'd start on Season 2 and see if things are any better because I've heard it's a really good show! But I'd rather some advice on whether or not I should?
